ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi!! My name is Zahra Behbehani and I am an international student from Kuwait. Being 7,000 miles away from home comes with downsides but also so many advantages. I get to immerse myself in a completely different environment and get an experience that could not be offered elsewhere. I am a psychology student with many opportunities to try out different fields through electives which is why I am taking this digital art class. I think I have always considered myself a creative soul. When I was younger dance used to be my creative outlet and as I started college I have found so many different ways to apply that energy. Fashion, music, room decor, and photography are all small ways I choose to represent myself. I like to show my creative side through things that are tied to my identity. An example of this would be my apartment. Whether it’d be the floral wall in my bedroom, the photos hung up in my living room, or my thrifted candle holders and vases. Especially because I am so far from home, creating this space for myself was not just a fun art project but offered me a sense of security and soundness. Through art, I have created what I now call my second home. Another random thing I’ve been doing for a while now is designing the covers of my journals. I always get a plain journal and either paint on the cover and create a collage and I feel like it makes it more personal. I am very excited to develop lasting skills in the world of digital art and incorporate it in all aspects of my life.
